India women’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has not been in the best of form in the 20-20 World Cup in South Africa so far. She has scored 66 runs in the four innings that she batted in the tournament. In the game against Ireland, she scored 13 off 20 deliveries. She has been the fulcrum of India’s middle order and has been very destructive for the Women in Blue.

India have been in good form in T20Is and have reached the finals of the last World Cup in Australia. The India side also made it to the finals of the Commonwealth Games which was played in the T20I format. Amol Mazumdar shared his thoughts on the Indian side ahead of the semi-finals and was asked some questions in interaction with Star Sports.

She played the wrong shot against the West Indies- Amol Muzumdar on Harmanpreet Kaur

“It is a great achievement. If Smriti Mandhana is going through this form, it is important for Harmanpreet Kaur to fire. I feel there is a slight issue in the middle order as I am a little concerned with the way Harmanpreet Kaur is getting out.” Muzumdar said. He also analysed how Kaur was getting out and advised what she could do to score more runs.

“She played a wrong shot against the West Indies. She lost her patience against England. I wanted to see how Harmanpreet plays against Sophie Ecclestone and today also she got out in a similar fashion. She got out at the wrong time.” “She is trying to hit in the air too much. Harmanpreet needs to keep two shots in her mind with which she can release the pressure, where she can get the boundaries and sixes.”

The Indian Team have done well in World events and have even gotten to semi-finals and finals but have not been able to win the trophy. The woman from Monga has scored 3006 runs in T20Is at an average of 27.83. She has scored one century and also picked up 32 wickets in the shortest format. Her ability to switch gears and be a match-winner for India has helped the national side immensely.
