Former India cricketer reveals MS Dhoni’s weird habit during his India playing days

MS Dhoni is one of the calmest and coolest captains that India has ever had. He has had an impeccable record when it comes to winning trophies for the national side. Dhoni led India to a T20 World Cup win in 2007 in South Africa, then four years later he created history again on home turf at the Wankhede Stadium. After that, in 2013, he made sure India won the Champions Trophy in England.

On another note, former India cricketer, Wasim Jaffer shared a hilarious anecdote that involved MS Dhoni. During drinks break, Dhoni used to drink up several glasses of Pepsi even though it was not recommended and was also in the purview of being a health hazard. MS Dhoni and Jaffer would have had several moments together in the Indian camp when they would have played matches for India. Jaffer was a giant player for Mumbai in domestic cricket and also went on to represent the national side at the highest level.

“During the drinks break, MS Dhoni used to sip Pepsi. It is not permitted. In terms of fitness, it contains a lot of sugar, and athletes are normally recommended to avoid it. Dhoni, on the other hand, had no qualms about downing a can of Pepsi or Coke on a daily basis. That’s exactly the type of person he was. Even when playing at the international level, under extreme pressure, he never veered from his routine. That is what I admire most about him,” Jaffer said as quoted by Cric Today.

MS Dhoni had his moment in Test cricket when under his leadership India became number one in the Test match rankings. In the ODI’s MS Dhoni has struck match-winning centuries against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in ODI cricket. When MS Dhoni got those scores he had flowing locks of long hair which was then liked by his fans from all over the world including former Pakistan President Parveez Musharaf who had said MS Dhoni should not cut his long hair.
