Pakistan lost by 37 runs against Bangladesh as they entered the final of the 2018 Asia Cup. After setting a target of 240 runs, Bangladesh restricted two-time champions Pakistan to 202 for 9. The Bangladesh fielders backed their bowlers brilliantly and took some blinders to peg Pakistan back home. Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza lauded his fielders for putting on a brilliant show against the Asian Giants.
Imam-ul-Haq was the top scorer with 83, while Mustafizur picked p for wickets. Earlier, Junaid Khan ended with stunning figures of 4/19. Wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim scored 99 while Mohammad Mithun put on 60 to help Bangladesh reach this score after a disastrous start. In reply, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman dismantled Pakistan’s top order. Imam-ul-Haq and Asif Ali produced a 71-run sixth-wicket stand to give Pakistan hope. Imam was previously involved in a 67-run fourth-wicket stand with Shoaib Malik, but they failed to win the match.
