It’s confirmed! The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), a popular universe of action-thriller films established by writer-director Lokesh Kanagaraj, now includes Thalapathy Vijay’s next movie Leo. The movie’s creators posted an update on their official X (formerly known as Twitter) account to confirm the news. The film’s creators posted a 47-second teaser trailer with the caption, “Father of LCU arriving soon (sic).”

This development occurred days after rumours circulated that the movie would probably star Suriya’s Rolex and Fahadh Faasil’s character Amar, a special task force cop from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s previous film Vikram. The movie stars Thalapathy Vijay in a dual role as chocolatier Parthiban ‘Parthi’ Das and his estranged brother Leo Das, a café owner who became well-liked by the community following a violent event.

On the other hand, Arjun Sarja and Sanjay Dutt will portray the criminal couple, Antony Das and Harold Das, while Gautham Vasudev Menon will portray a police officer. Trisha Krishnan will play Sathya, the wife of Parthiban. Prior to its release, Thalapathy Vijay’s next movie is thought to have earned a total of about Rs 422 crore. The movie’s digital, satellite, and audio rights have been sold for about Rs 220 crore. The theatre rights for Telugu-speaking areas have been estimated to be worth approximately Rs 25 crore, while the film’s Kerala rights have been sold for about Rs 15 crore.

Theatrical rights in Kannada for the movie might have brought in at least Rs 12 crore. According to an India Today report, Leo’s worldwide theatrical rights were sold for about Rs 50 crore, bringing the total to about Rs 422 crore.

directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film centres on Parthiban ‘Parthi’ Das, a chocolatier who becomes the target of two gangsters, Harold and Antony Das. Parthiban is thought by the criminals to be his estranged younger brother Leo Das. Sanjay Dutt makes his screen debut in Tamil with Leo. Following the successful 2021 film Master, this marks Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj‘s second collaboration.

After Master, this is also Lokesh Kanagaraj and Anirudh Ravichander’s second collaboration. On October 19, Leo in the 2D and IMAX versions in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam will be released in theatres all over the world.
