The FIFA World Cup 2022, considered to be the biggest sporting event, hosted by Qatar, is witnessing one of the best thrilling encounters of all time. As things stand, Japan and Spain locked horns in a Group E match and it was the latter who came out on top in the end.

To add more, the Japanese team kept coming up with great defence and eventually created more opportunities. Despite all the chaos, the Spaniard star player, Álvaro Morata, opened the account for the team and helped them take the lead in the 11th minute.

Japan have been enjoying a great multinational tournament and the game against Spain turned out to be a great one as well. While many predicted Japan to fail, the team bounced back and scored the first goal on the back of stupendous efforts from Ritsu Doan in the 48th minute. Ao Tanaka produced the second goal for his team in the 51st minute and Japan maintained the scoreline 2-1.

Germany end FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign in style

Simultaneously, Costa Rica and Germany squared off against each other from the same group and the teams fought it hard in the match with the hope of making a cut to the knockout stage of the world’s biggest sporting event.

The star German footballer, Serge Gnabry scored the initial goal for his team in the 10th minute, putting Costa Rica on the back foot right away. The first half was all about Germany as they dominated, created opportunities and held possession for most parts of the half. However, much to the stupefaction of the Costa Rican fans, their star player Yeltsin Tejeda, bounced back in the second half and matched the lead in the 58th minute.

While many predicted that it might be an easy sail through for Germany, Costa Rica’s last-minute comeback complicated things further and eventually made things interesting. Eventually, Juan Pablo Vargas scored the lead for Costa Rica in the 70th minute, only to be matched by Kai Havertz in the 73rd minute. The match, however, ended in Germany’s favour as they won the game 2-4 on the back of a brace from Havertz in the 85th minute and a goal from Niclas Füllkrug in the 89th minute. However, despite winning the game, it was Spain who made it through to the next round by the barest of margins.
