The breathtaking action continued in the FIFA World Cup 2022 as fans got to see four riveting clashes on Day 5. The first match of the day was between Switzerland and Cameroon. Cameron, who came into the match without a win in the World Cup for 20 years, dominated the first half and gave tough competition to the Swiss. They missed several good chances to score and take the lead.

Cameroon had outplayed the Swiss in the first 45 minutes with quick combinations, speed and power as their opponents had no answer to their attack. Switzerland made a comeback and struck at the start of the second half with Xherdan Shaqiri cutting into the box and Breel Embolo tapping in what proved to be the winner.

At the final whistle, Switzerland emerged victorious by 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Cameroon-born Breel Embolo and registered their first win in the Group G encounter.

Uruguay vs South Korea (0-0)

The second match of the day was between Uruguay and South Korea at the Education City Stadium. The match grabbed the attention for a unique reason as neither side recorded a shot on target during the match according to FIFA — the first time that has happened in a World Cup game this century.

Hwang Ui-Jo missed an opportunity to put South Korea ahead in the 34th minute. Uruguay almost made them regret that in the 43rd minute when Godin struck the base of the post. Both teams tried their best but failed to score as the game ended in a draw with both teams taking one point each.

Portugal vs Ghana (3-2)

The third match was the most awaited game of the day as fans were excited to see the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo in action. Portugal got their World Cup campaign off to a brilliant start with a 3-2 win courtesy of quick-fire goals from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao helped them to victory at Stadium 974.

Cristiano Ronaldo put his side ahead in the 65th minute with a penalty becoming the first male player to score at five World Cups.

 Brazil vs Serbia (2-0)

The last match of the day was another mouth-watering clash between Brazil and Serbia. Richarlison was the star of the match who lit up the game with his brace giving the five-time-champions an emphatic start to their World Cup campaign.
