The exhilarating football action continued in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Tuesday as the fans had three mouth-watering clashes to look forward to. The first match of the day was between Argentina and Saudi Arabia at Lusail Stadium. The game was full of several breath-taking moments as the crowd got to see Lionel Messi’s trademark penalty kick in the 10th minute which took Argentina to a 1-0 lead.

After the first half belonged to Argentina, Saudi Arabia made an emphatic comeback in the 48th minute of the match as Saleh Alshehri opened the account for his team. However, it was in the 53rd minute of the match that the entire stadium erupted with joy as Salem Aldawsari took Saudi Arabia into the lead with his scintillating Goal.

As the final whistle blew to signal the end of the match, the 51st-ranked Saudi Arabia beat the third-ranked Argentina, who are also one of the favourites to win the competition.

Denmark vs Tunisia

The second match of the day was between Denmark and Tunisia at Education City Stadium. Tunisia were seen charged up right from the kick-off as they had several tackles and two excellent chances to open their account. Denmark also failed to convert their chances as the game ended in a draw with both sides failing to score a goal.

Mexico vs Poland

The third match of the day was between Mexico and Poland at Stadium 974. The game turned out to be an entertaining draw as the crowd got to see some fouls and several chances being created. Mexico had the bulk of the possession in the game as but couldn’t convert their chances. On the other hand, Poland failed to get the star player Robert Lewandowski involved as he received little service. The game ended in a 0-0 draw with both teams taking one point each.

France vs Australia

The fourth match of the day was between the defending champions France and Australia at Qatar’s Al-Janoub Stadium. Craig Goodwin gave Australia a surprise lead in just the ninth minute. However, the world cup holders made a great comeback by half-time as they got in the lead after Adrien Rabiot and then Olivier Giroud scored in the space of five minutes.

France extended their lead as they scored two more quick-fire goals midway through the second half. Kylian Mbappe announced his arrival in the mega tournament with his first goal in Qatar. Giroud also added another goal to his tally as France completed a 4-1 victory in their opening encounter. They became the first defending champions to win their opening game since Brazil in 2006.
