FIFA World Cup 2022: Kramarac leads the Croatian attack to crush Canada in a must-win match

Croatia and Canada locked horns in their second match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 at the Khalifa International Stadium. Prior to this match, Croatia had played a draw in their first match of the current edition. Whereas, on the other hand, Canada ended up on the wrong side in their tournament opener.

The match was completely filled with goals for the fans who were present there to witness it in the KIS of Doha. Notably, this match was a must-win for both Croatians and Atiba Hutchinson’s Canada.

Only in the second minute of the match, young center-back Alphonso Davies amazed everyone with his first goal of the match. Davies came up with a brilliant header to help Canada take a lead of 1-0.

Canada managed this lead somehow till the 36th minute of the match before senior center-forward Andrej Kramarac scored a stunner to keep Croatia alive in the match. Kramarac’s heroics went on to inspire his teammate Marko Livaja who scored the second goal for Croatia just a few minutes before the half-time whistle.

This goal took the score line from 1-1 to 2-1 in favor of Croatia. Although Andrej Kramarac was looking quite a bit less satisfied with the lead of 2-1 and he took responsibility on his shoulders to score the third goal for his team and his second individual goal in the match. This 70th-minute goal by Kramarac increased the lead and made the score 3-1 in favor of Croatia.

Everyone in the stadium was assured that Croatia would be going home 3-1 but attacking midfielder Lovro Majer stunned everyone with a goal in the additional time of the match. This goal finished the match with a score line of 4-1 for Croatia.

Eventually, the Canadians have been eliminated from this ongoing edition of the FIFA World Cup which was also their first appearance since 1986 when they qualified last time.
