Australia beat India in the 20-20 World Cup semi-final in South Africa by five runs. The match turned out to be cliffhanger as India scored 167-8 in reply to Australia’s 172-4. India were found wanting in the field, field placements were poor, and the bowlers did not step up.

Beth Mooney made 54 off 37 balls with seven fours and one six. Her innings took the wind out of India’s sails. Mooney was first dropped by Shafali Verma who took Mooney’s catch the second time.  When Varma took the catch to dismiss Mooney, she was seen mouthing some abusive words after she took the catch. Then she threw the ball on the ground in anger.
