‘Fans se pucho kya halat hoti hai defend krne mei’ – Fans moist-eyed after Virat Kohli says Bangalore have the best fans in the World
Bangalore registered their first win in the Women’s T20 League against the UP on Wednesday. They skittled UP for 135 with the ball as Ellyse Perry picked up 3-16 with the ball in her four overs. The Australian was well supported by Sophie Devine, who picked up 2-23 in her four overs. Asha Shobna did well and picked up 2-27 in her four overs. Bangalore were in a spot of bother at 60-4 but Kanika Ahuja and Richa Ghosh brought them home.
Before the game, the Bengaluru Women’s team had a surprise visitor. It was Virat Kohli. The former Bangalore skipper gave a pep talk to the girls before the match began. Bangalore had lost five matches on the trot before the win. Kohli, in his speech, said that he had been playing in the tournament for 15 years and Bangalore had not won a trophy yet.
Virat Kohli said that the Bangalore fans have been the most special before the UP game in WTL
The former India captain said that the best the players can do is put 100 per cent effort and go into the game and play it with all their heart. Kohli said that the Bangalore fans are the best fans in the world and that they have been the most special. He said that the fans are always smiling and that the fans believe in the players.
Kohli said that the players should give their 110 per cent and leave no stone unturned. In the game against UP, Kanika Ahuja made 46 off 30 balls with eight fours and one six. Ghosh made 31 off 32 balls with three fours and one six. The youngsters for Bangalore have stepped up and delivered under pressure. This was a good all-round performance by the Bold Army.
Bangalore have not won an Indian T20 League title from 2008 to 2022. This has been an Achilles heel for the franchise. The men from Garden city have made it to three Indian T20 League finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Bangalore have made it to the playoffs on three occasions since 2020.
