As the countdown to the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final reaches its zenith, India stands on the precipice of cricketing glory, ready to reclaim the coveted trophy on home soil. Their path to this momentous occasion has been a mesmerizing odyssey, a testament to their spirit, tactical astuteness, and a series of exceptional individual performances.

From the very first clash against Australia, India set the tone for an indomitable campaign, embarking on a ten-match winning streak that left opponents reeling in their wake. What stands out is the fact that most of India’s wins have been absolutely overwhelming. Even when faced with adversity, they have consistently emerged triumphant, striking fear into the hearts of their opponents.

The Indian batting line-up has been a tour de force, with each player fulfilling their role to impeccable perfection. At the top of the order, Rohit Sharma has consistently provided India with lightning-fast starts, routinely shattering the opposition’s morale. Shubman Gill, while yet to register a massive score, has played several crucial knocks, exuding an air of composure and confidence.

Ahead of the World Cup Final, Stuart Broad has predicted that an Indian victory, which according to him, will also be good for the game’s future.

Virat Kohli, true to his illustrious form, has been breaking records with each innings and is poised to finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer. The middle-order duo of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul has been nothing short of exceptional, instilling a sense of calmness in the dressing room through their consistent match-winning contributions.

The bowlers on the other hand, have been nothing short of ferocious, relentlessly dismantling opposition with fiery spells, match after match. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been unyielding, spearheading the assault with their unerring accuracy and menacing pace. Shami, in particular, has been a force to be reckoned with, topping the wicket-taking charts despite playing only six games. While the pacers have rightly earned the spotlight, the spinners, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, have quietly chipped in with their brand of magic.

As India prepares to face their opponents in the final, the nation stands united behind them, their hopes and aspirations pinned on their shoulders. The journey to the final has been nothing short of extraordinary and the stage is now set for the last dance.

“India would win this final 95 times out of 100”

Ahead of the summit clash, former-England player, Stuart Broad believes that India are overwhelming favourites to win the game and that they would prevail 95 times out of 100. “India are so powerful in their own conditions that I would say they would win this final 95 times out of 100”, he said.

He also feels that Virat Kohli deserves to win a home World Cup again, having already done it once back in 2011. “Given the career Virat Kohli has had, making 50 ODI hundreds, he deserves to be a double World Cup winner in his own country too”, he added.

He also said that for Australia to produce a shock win, they will need to win the toss. “Australia’s route to producing a shock in my view is win the toss, bowl, hope the ball nips around and for Mitchell Starc to get it right, hit Rohit Sharma on the shin, and Josh Hazlewood following by nicking off Kohli”, he said.
