In a stunning piece of news that has hit the Pakistan Super League, eight cameras which are reportedly worth millions of rupees that were put up for monitoring the PSL in Lahore have been robbed. Along with the cameras, the batteries which are used in generators to help light up the Gaddafi stadium have also been stolen.

Two cases have been slapped on thieves at Gulberg Police station. The matches which are to be slated at Lahore and Rawalpindi might not happen as the Pakistan Cricket Board and the Punjab Government are at loggerheads over security expenses. The PCB have also received a huge bill of 500 million from the government of Pakistan.

The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League might be entirely played in Karachi

There have been reports coming in that the PSL might be shifted entirely to Karachi and the matches might not be played at Lahore and Rawalpindi. At the start of the PSL, a bomb blast had briefly halted an exhibition game in Quetta before the official matches took place. The remaining matches might be played in Karachi as cost-cutting measures. The PSL has only recently been shifted to Pakistan after having its initial few editions in the United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan had also been given the designated status of host for the 2023 Asia Cup, but the multilateral tournament might not be hosted in Pakistan entirely as there were reports that the continental tournament could be played both in the UAE and Pakistan. If that happens, India are likely to play their matches in UAE and the other fixtures in the tournament would be played in Pakistan.

Cricket had come to an abrupt halt in 2009 when Pakistan stopped hosting matches at their home grounds after terrorists had attacked the Sri Lankan Team. Since then, Pakistan played all the matches in the UAE with the Middle East being their adopted home ground. Pakistan had Australia and England on its shores recently.
