He was a vital cog in the wheel for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the last edition. In the 2023 IPL season, he hit his Uttar Pradesh (UP) teammate for five sixes in the 20th over at Ahmedabad.

Speaking on Rinku Singh, Kiran More said that Rinku could become the next Yuvraj Singh or MS Dhoni in terms of finishing skills. Yuvraj and MS Dhoni were Team India’s pillars in the middle order for a number of years. “I have been waiting for his opportunity in the Indian team. And that batting position, of No.5 and 6, he will perform well in that spot and can end up being a brilliant finisher. We all have seen MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. After that, we haven’t got a player like them. Rinku is also a brilliant fielder. And I have seen him in domestic cricket as well, he has improved a lot I feel,” More said on Jio Cinema.

Rinku is tailor-made for playing down the order- Abhishek Nayar

MS Dhoni scored 10,773 runs in ODIs. He played his last game in the 2019 World Cup. When it comes to Yuvraj he was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup triumph and also the 2011 World Cup. The man from Punjab was declared the player of the tournament in 2011.  Speaking further about Rinku Singh, Abhishek Nayar who was part of the discussion added and talked about where India could use Rinku in the batting order.

“With Hardik Pandya transforming into a role of a batter and playing higher up the order, you need someone down the order who can finish off the job for you. You did have someone like Axar Patel for it, but Rinku is tailor-made. That is why the outlook towards Rinku should be the same as we are looking towards Tilak,” Nayar said.
