DIY? Vikrant Massey once confessed on not being invited to an award show despite being nominated

In 2023, Vikrant Massey had a very prosperous time working in Bollywood. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail proved to be a turning point in his career. In addition to becoming Vikrant’s first box office success in a leading part, the film brought him his first Best Actor honour. As Vikrant’s devoted followers rejoice over his well-earned victory, interest is growing in an old interview in which he discussed being nominated for Best Actor (jury) but not receiving an invitation to an award ceremony.

Vikrant revealed something startling about the award system in 2020. Vikrant Massey disclosed in a previous media interview that he was nominated for an award ceremony in the Best Actor (jury) category but was not invited. He emphasised that he knows how the system operates and that his only focus has always been on his work, saying that although the incident could have easily hurt him, it didn’t affect him in the slightest.

Looking back on his journey, Vikrant revealed that many people in the industry told him he was wasting his time trying his luck in Bollywood because TV actors don’t usually succeed there. Vikrant disclosed that he was first turned down for the role of Devdas in his feature debut Lootera, even though he was subjected to criticism for coming from the television industry. But the actor who was first cast as Devdas withdrew just 20 days before the movie was supposed to begin filming, so the directors went to Vikrant for the part.

In response to a question about nepotism, Vikrant said that it happens everywhere and that although insiders may have a better chance of getting films even after giving flops, in the end, they won’t succeed if the public doesn’t like them. Vikrant is now in the ranks of the most successful mainstream actors after the success of 12th Fail. In terms of his next ventures, they include Yaar Jigri, Sector 36, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, The Sabarmati Report, and TME.
