On Tuesday evening, all Indian T20 League franchises announced the full list of retained and released players for the upcoming season. Of all of the names, there was one that has shocked all; some pleasantly while others not so much. The name was Ravindra Jadeja!

The announcement that has sent social media buzzing was Chennai retaining Jadeja for the upcoming Indian T20 League 2023. The shock has been this intense because there were a lot of rumours of Chennai and Jadeja’s separation in the past.

It all started when Jadeja removed all of the Chennai-related posts from his Instagram. Fears of Chennai fans have aggravated even further after Jadeja deleted his reply on Chennai’s Twitter post.

In the post made on February 4, 2022, Chennai’s official Twitter handle had written, “Ten years of Super Jaddu.” On the post, Jadeja had replied, “10 more to go.” The 33-year-old however went back and deleted that reply as well, sending fans into a meltdown.

Reports of a possible trade between Gujarat and Chennai then started to emerge in which Jadeja was to be traded with Rahul Tewatia by the Chennai side.

All of the rumours however have been put to bed after Chennai announced the retainment of Jadeja on Tuesday. Jadeja also made fans’ day after posting a picture of him bowling down to MS Dhoni after a match against Mumbai with the caption, “Everything is fine [Yellow heart emoji].” Social media soon started buzzing after the announcement made by Chennai.
