‘Different breed these United lads’ -Fans react over Manchester United winger Antony’s ex-girlfriend filing police report against him for domestic violence

Manchester United’s Antony got himself in hot soup after he was accused of domestic violence by his girlfriend Gabriela Cavallin. As per reports, she alleged that the United forward assaulted her on 20th. The police report has been filed on June 5. The complainant said that she was assaulted by the United forward on May 20th. In the complaint, she further stated that the Brazilian sent pics of abrasions and threatening messages.

The charges that have been pressed on him are of domestic violence, threatening behavior, and bodily harm.”. When the incident was reported.  The footballer was involved in a game for United. He played in the side when United emerged victorious on the back of a 1-0 win that they picked up at the Vitality stadium on May 10 against Bournemouth. There has been no statement put out either by the club or by the athlete with regards to the allegations.

Antony got into the United squad last summer via a transfer for 85 million pounds under Eric ten Hag’s leadership. The manager also has not given a statement to the media about the allegations. Antony and Cavallin were in a relationship last year. She took to social media to say that she had experienced a miscarriage when the then couple were expecting their first child, Mason Greenwood had similar charges pressed against him.

But, according to reports, ten hag wants Greenwood to remain at United due to his well-known exploits on the football pitch. There is however, dissent shown by the board members who are of the opinion that Greenwood should not be allowed to play again.  In 129 appearances, Greenwood has netted 35 goals and also given out 12 assists.  United lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the FA Cup final.

Antony was not able to take part in the high intense final as he was ruled out due to an ankle injury. The Brazilian further went on to say that United will look to get their hands on more trophies come the 2023-24 season. Antony last played for the club against Chelsea. United will be on testing waters if Antony’s allegations are indeed proven true.
