‘Deadpool 3 will save Marvel’ – Fans hail Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s new Deadpool and Wolverine teaser

And just like that, two more characters will be added to the adored roster of superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), ushering in a period of intense and character-packed storytelling. The first official teaser for director Shawn Levy’s Deadpool and Wolverine, the 34th instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was released on Sunday during the 2024 Super Bowl. The teaser for the upcoming film indicates that it will be an excellent addition to the franchise, complete with plenty of R-rated humour and intense action scenes.

Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) celebrates his birthday with friends and his fiancée Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) in the opening scene of the 155-second teaser. Wade says, “It’s true that the past few years have been difficult. But I am happy,” as the promo video cuts to a shot of him standing with his head down and a serious expression on his face. He declares, “I am the luckiest man alive,” in his birthday speech.

Deadpool 3 teaser dropped:

The Time Variance Authority (TVA) shows up in the teaser to kidnap Wade and incorporate him into the MCU. He tells them confidently, “Friendo, pegging isn’t new for me, but it is for Disney,” but the TVA agents knock him out and take him to their headquarters. No, he is not by himself. As Deadpool is being thrown to the ground towards the end of the promo video, a shadowy figure—James “Logan” Howlett, aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), with retractable claws and superhuman abilities—emerges, indicating the start of an exciting new chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool and Wolverine are now part of the MCU thanks to Disney‘s 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which allowed Marvel Studios to bring these characters back. In 1994, Marvel Studios sold Fox the rights to the X-Men films and other related properties. When Deadpool 2 was first released in 2018, it shattered records by taking in $18.6 million at the North American box office. Similar success was had by Deadpool two years earlier, when it made a record-breaking $132.4 million at its domestic premiere, according to Variety.

Phase Five of the MCU, featuring Emma Corrin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen, will see the release of Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26, 2024. Check out the fan’s reaction to the teaser below.
