David Warner, Shaheen Afridi and other stars roped in for 2nd edition of ILT20, set to commence on January 19

David Warner, Shaheen Afridi are among top players taking part in the 2nd edition of ILT20 starting from Friday.

Another prominent example of League cricket gaining popularity worldwide is the return of the 2nd edition of the DP World International League T20 from Friday in the UAE. The tournament kicks off on Friday in the UAE, featuring 34 action-packed games culminating in the grand finale on February 17th in Dubai. 

Brace yourself for explosive hitting from Australian legend David Warner, leading the Dubai Capitals, and searing pace from New Zealand’s top fast bowler, Trent Boult, starring for Mumbai Indians Emirates. The league will also feature other superstars of the game such as Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Rashid Khan, and a galaxy of other T20 superstars who are ready to light up the desert with their cricketing magic. 

The six-team T20 extravaganza will see familiar names like Kolkata Knight Riders (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Delhi Capitals (Dubai Capitals), and MI Emirates along with Adani Sportsline’s Gulf Giants, Desert Vipers(Lance Capitals) and Sharjah Warriors(Capri Global) battling it out across three iconic Emirates cities: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.

ILT20 is more than just big hits and dazzling catches. The tournament boasts a star-studded commentary panel with legends like Harbhajan, Virender Sehwag, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Alan Wilkins, Simon Doull, Daren Ganga, Danny Morrison and Niall O’Brien. The event will have both English and Hindi commentary to cater to all types of audiences.

Expectations are riding high on the League

Harbhajan Singh has been named as the brand ambassador of the second edition of the league as the organizers of the league are determined to make this league the second-best league in the world after the IPL with their deep penetration into the worldwide cricket audiences and their disruptive marketing strategies. 

The organizers of the league stated, “The deep distribution and disruptive marketing strategy for the second season aims to further enhance the league’s reach and ensure widespread viewership, emphasizing ILT20’s appeal to a broad and diverse audience. In the previous season, the league achieved a remarkable reach of over 250 million across India.”

As per the organizers, the inaugural season of the event drew in viewership of 367 million from both India and around the globe, establishing it as the second-most-watched T20 cricket league worldwide and they want to grow it multi-fold.
