Before the rain came down and the match moved into the reserve day.
There was rain before the start of the match and when conditions became clear and play resumed. It was decided that a full 50-over game would be played and Pakistan were dealt a huge blow as Haris Rauf could not bowl because he had discomfort in his left flank. Rauf had some inflammation – Pakistan bowling coach Morne Morkel
In the match so far, Rauf has bowled five overs and conceded 27 runs. Rauf has had a great camaraderie with the Indian players. In the 2023 T20 World Cup Rauf and Kohli had a great showdown at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). “Haris Rauf will not be bowling any further in the Asia Cup Super 4 match against India as a precautionary measure. He felt a little discomfort in his right flank during the match yesterday. He was subsequently taken for a precautionary MRI, which revealed no tear. He is under the observation of the team’s medical panel,” The PCB’s statement on Rauf said.
“He (Haris Rauf) started feeling his oblique muscle last night. He had a scan and it revealed some inflammation. With the World Cup round the corner, it is precautionary and we’ll have to use the other boys to fill the overs. About yesterday’s bowling, I felt that we weren’t on the money from the get go, and that’s why we were hit for a few runs,” Pakistan’s bowling coach Morne Morkel said.
