Former Sri Lankan cricketer and renowned umpire Kumar Dharmasena shared a picture on social media with former India captain Sourav Ganguly on the occasion of ‘Valentine’s Day’. Dharmasena took this picture during the ‘World Cricket Committee’ meeting held in Dubai, where Ganguly reached to attend the meeting. Dharmasena shared these pictures on his Facebook account and wrote in the caption, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’.

Dharmasena also posted a picture with former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president Ramiz Raja on his Facebook profile with the caption, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you’. Raja was also present in the meeting held in Dubai. The very pictures have left the fans baffled and at the same time, they are having a laugh about it as the caption of the post is totally irrelevant to the context of the pics.

The 51-year-old Sri Lankan used to be an all-rounder during his playing days and took 207 wickets and amassed 2090 runs for the Lankan Lions. He is a member of the apex cricket body’s Elite Panel Umpires and the first and only person to represent the World Cup Final both as a player and an umpire. He played in the 1996 Cricket World Cup Final and then officiated in the 2015 and 2019 50-over World Cup Finals.

Ramiz Raja was sacked from PCB’s chairman post last year

Talking about Raja, when he was the president of PCB, he was seen competing with the Indian Cricket Board over the hosting of the Asia Cup. The former Pakistani captain had even said that if India does not come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, then the Pakistan team will also not go to India to play the upcoming 50-over World Cup. However, Raja was later sacked from the post of PCB chairman. At the same time, the decision to host the Asia Cup is to be taken in the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council next month.

The Pakistan government appointed a 14-member panel headed by Najam Sethi to run cricket in the country for the next four months, replacing former cricketer Raja as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). While issuing a notification regarding the sacking of Raja, the Government of Pakistan had said that this decision has been taken after Pakistan’s 0-3 crushing defeat in the Test series at the hands of England.
