Counter-Strike 2 brought a lot of new changes. Apart from the server and utility changes, one of the biggest changes was its global leaderboards and per-map rankings.

The new CS2 premier took over its original ranked matchmaking. With the premier, players can now compete with others across the world in a simple manner of rating.

One needs to keep in mind that the namings to these ratings are just a way to compare them with old Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rankings. In reality, players can still play the ranked mode get a ranking per map and determine their skill level.

Let’s take a look at how CS2 premier ranks are divided –

Grey: 0 – 4999

Although the rankings start from 1000, until 4999, players have their rating in silver. This is generally referred to as the silver ranks from
CS: GO. These include Silver I, Silver II, Silver III, Silver IV, Silver Elite, and Silver Elite Master.

Light Blue: 5000 – 9999

Light Blue player is considered as one of the gold rankings. These include Gold Nova I, Gold Nova II, Gold Nova III, and Gold Nova Master. While a few other ranks may have similar tags in a competitive, reaching them can be difficult.

Blue: 10000 – 14999

Players with blue ranks are often referred to as seasoned and ranked among guardians. These ranks include Master Guardian I, Master Guardian II, Master Guardian Elite, and Distinguished Master Guardian.

Purple: 15000 – 19999

After reaching above CS2 rating of 15000 fair and square, players can be considered somewhat knowledgeable in their gunplay. These players are associated with Legendary Eagle and Legendary Eagle Master.

Pink: 20000 – 24999

Reaching, 20000 and above can be hard if people are not playing regularly, but those who do are considered to be on that level of Supreme Master First Class.

Red: 25000 – 29999

All players in red ranks are Global Elites. There are many, but some have dedicated enough time and have enough skill to be called a Global Elite.

Yellow: 30,000+

There are a few that have managed to reach over 30,000 in CS2 rating. Reaching there for a regular player can be a little rough, as a single loss can drop their ranks by a lot.

Like others, there is no arbitrary rating, these players are considered above the Global elites. Although some may argue that the yellow and red ranks have the same skill level players.

Another important aspect is the rank-up matches, where a win is required to break through these rating barriers. This acts as a hurled for ranking up as well as a safe point before ranking down.
