Confirmed: Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma welcomes their second child

Ahead of the ongoing five-match Test series between India and England, Virat Kohli was surrounded by rumors about why he took a break. Ahead of the series, he was granted leave for personal reasons by the Indian Cricket Board. The board insisted on giving privacy to the former India skipper. However, former South Africa skipper and RCB teammate, AB de Villiers seemed to have spilled the beans.

The latter claimed that his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate is about to become a father for the second time. However, no reply came from the likes of Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, who is a Bollywood actor and producer by profession. Seeing this, De Villiers retracted his statement and ‘apologized’ for ‘spreading fake news’.

“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision,” de Villiers added.

“I made a terrible mistake at the same time, sharing false information, which was not true at all.

“I think whatever’s best for Virat’s family comes first. No one knows what’s happening there, all I can do is wish him well. Whatever the reason for his break, I hope he can comeback stronger, better and fresh from this.”

In a social media post by Sharma, she confirmed that she and her husband have welcomed the younger brother of Vamika, their first child.

“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love. We are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy, Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this little brother!

“We seek you blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives.
