‘Cinema mein bhi aage, Cricket mein bhi aage’ – Fans rejoice as Telegu Warriors claim fourth CCL title

Telegu Warriors have won the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), beating Bhojpuri Dabanng in the final. The team entered in the final after beating Karnataka Bulldozers in the semifinal, who had an unbeaten run in the tournament. Also, the team reached the top four because of the Net Run Rate situation than Chennai Rhinos. Meanwhile, in the final, the Warriors beat another unbeaten side, Bhojpuri.

The Red Brigade asked the Bhojpuri side to bat first and started the demolition job with the ball. The Blue Brigade, Dabanng lost their openers early. With rain interruptions and regular wickets, the team was folded for  72 for six wickets in their first innings consisting of 10 overs. In reply, the Telegu side would have struggled if not for Akhil Akkineni’s 67 off 32 balls.

The Warriors eventually ended their first innings at 104 for the loss of 4 wickets, managing a 32-run lead. In the second innings, Dabangg did better with at 89 for six in 10 overs, on the backs of Aditya Ojha’s 31 (13) and Uday Tiwari’s 34 (18). There was no chance Dabangg was winning this after their first innings wobble. They lost by eight wickets and had four overs to spare.
