Chennai share special wish for injured Ravindra Jadeja amid rumours of rift
Ravindra Jadeja’s sudden injury is a huge blow to the Indian team, which is competing in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. The all-rounder was ruled out of the continental tournament on Friday following a right knee injury. The Indian Cricket Board announced Axar Patel as his replacement for the remainder of the tournament.
Notably, Axar Patel was named as one of the standby players along with Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar. The Indian Cricket Board informed that Jadeja is being looked after by the Indian medical team.
Jadeja was integral to India’s win against Pakistan as he played an important knock of 35 off 29 deliveries against the Men in Green. With Hardik Pandya, Jadeja brought India out of a tough situation and brought the team right to the cusp of victory before getting out.
Interestingly, Jadeja’s Indian T20 League team, Chennai has extended wishes for his speedy recovery following the injury. The official twitter account tweeted, “Speedy recovery, Jaddu! Come back stronger than ever!”

Though an Indian T20 League franchise wishing their own player seems normal to many, this one has many nuances to it. Many reports have suggested a rift between Jadeja and the Chennai team which makes this tweet even more so special. Jadeja is likely to part ways with the Chennai team in coming editions as many reports have suggested.
Jadeja was handed over the captaincy for the team in the beginning stages of the Indian T20 League 2022 but was asked to give the leadership post to Mahendra Singh Dhoni following the team’s dismal performance. This move seems to have soured the relationship between Jadeja and his franchise Chennai.
Recently, Jadeja removed all Chennai-related posts from his official Instagram account giving fuel to all the rumours about the rift. Jadeja has played 210 India T20 League matches in which he has made 2502 runs and taken 132 wickets. He has been integral to Chennai’s success in the tournament and has won three trophies with them.
