India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has not had the best of times recently. Reports have come in that the Indian speedster could miss the coming Indian T20 League and also the Test Championship final should India qualify. His comeback from injury could take some more time and this could be a big jolt to the Mumbai side in the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League.

As reported by Cricbuzz, Bumrah’s injury is more serious than it initially appeared as he is still not up to the mark and not a hundred per cent fit. Bumrah last played a T20I game for India against Australia just before the 20-20 World Cup and missed the T20I South Africa after that. He also was not a part of the 20-20 World Cup in Australia where India crashed out of the semi-finals against England.

Mumbai finished last on the Indian T20 League standings in 2022

Bumrah has been rehabilitating at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru where the doctors and physios there have not given him the green signal yet to return to competitive cricket. Earlier it was assumed that Bumrah could make a comeback in the white-ball series against Sri Lanka. But he was later deemed unfit and did not play in that series.

The Mumbai side did not have the best Indian T20 League season in 2022 as they finished last in the standings. Notably, Mumbai have won five trophies in the Indian T20 League and have been the most successful franchise. It also seems likely that Bumrah will not be a part of the Test Championship final which will be played in June after the conclusion of the Indian T20 League.

India have won the first two Test matches in the four-match Test series against Australia and have taken a 2-0 lead over the Kangaroos. The last two Tests in the series will be played at Indore and Ahmedabad. India have won the last three editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter-
