‘Can I hold a machine gun and kill people’ – Huma Qureshi confesses on wanting to do a film like Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal!

According to actor Huma Qureshi, she would adore working on a movie similar to Animal in which she gets to wield a machine gun and murder thousands of people. The actor continued, saying in an interview with India Today that she ‘loved the machismo, action, and music’ of Animal. She described it as “a very crafty film” as well. Huma also discussed how controversial ‘Animal‘ is.

Huma declared, “I loved the film and really enjoyed it. I adored the action, machismo, and soundtrack. It’s a really clever movie, and I think all kinds of movies should be made. It’s up to you, the viewer, whether or not you want to see that movie. In a movie, I would adore being in control of a machine gun and murdering thousands of people. As an actor, I find it extremely thrilling to be involved in something that has the potential to be so destructive. That is how I would phrase it. As an actor, I find it incredibly thrilling to play something like that when I watch films like Animal, Wolf of Wall Street, or other intense films. Something about it exists. I’m not sure what it is.”

Huma also discussed the divisive responses to Animal, saying, “These kinds of discussions about films and their effects on people are necessary because Animal is a highly divisive film. However, I believe that since we have been producing such excellent films, society ought to have improved by now if films have such a positive influence on it. It won’t even get worse at this point if it hasn’t already improved. Make both Animal and Maharani, as I am advising. People will watch it as long as they find it entertaining.”

The director of Animal is Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Starring in the action thriller are Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Ranbir Kapoor. One of the biggest box office successes of 2023 was Animal. But it also received flak for portraying misogyny. During the post-credits scene, the movie hinted at a potential Animal Park sequel in which Ranbir might play two roles. Ranbir plays Rannvijay Singh in the film Animal, which centres on a tumultuous father-son relationship. After his father is the target of an assassination attempt, Singh seeks revenge. At the box office, the movie brought in more than ₹800 crore.

The third season of Saurabh Bhave’s ‘Maharani’ will feature Huma for fans to see. Important roles in Maharani 3 are also played by Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Sohum Shah. Huma plays Rani Bharti, also known as ‘Maharani’, in the show. Dimple Kharbanda and Naren Kumar are the producers of ‘Maharani 3’.
