India’s World Cup campaign so far has been nothing short of sensational. They have been the most dominant team in the tournament, winning all of their matches by convincing margins. Their batting and bowling have been in top form, and they have looked like a team on a mission. India has been good in all three departments which has been reflected in the team’s performances. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been the top performers with the bat while the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are mighty impressive.

India has four matches remaining before the knockouts, and fans will hope that the team maintains its momentum and enters the semi-finals with unwavering confidence. The opponents in front of Rohit Sharma and Co. are England, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Netherlands.

Kohli to feature against Proteas on birthday

On November 5th, Virat Kohli, one of the most illustrious cricketers to have ever played the game, will celebrate his 35th birthday. On that auspicious day, he will be in action at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, as India takes on Temba Bavuma’s South Africa in their penultimate group fixture. Kohli has been in sublime form, accumulating 354 runs in five innings at an astonishing strike rate of 90.54. He has amassed three half-centuries and a century in the tournament, falling agonizingly short of a second hundred against New Zealand.

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is planning a special birthday celebration for Virat Kohli, who will be turning 35 on November 5. The exact details of the celebration are still under wraps, but something grand can be expected. Kohli, on his part, will hope to make another match-winning contribution and lead India to victory against a South African team that has been absolutely phenomenal in the tournament, barring a minor blip against the Netherlands.

Virat Kohli boasts an impressive ODI record at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. He has amassed 330 runs in seven innings at an average of 47.14 and a strike rate of 88.95. He has three half-centuries and a century to his name at the venue, and he will be eager to augment his tally.
