Brazil icon Pele posts a warm response to Kylian Mbappe’s ‘get-well’ message after moving onto ‘end of life care’

The FIFA World Cup 2022 has been a wonderful football spectacle that just keeps on giving. There have been close encounters, matches decided on extra time, upsets galore. Unarguably, it has been one of the best World Cups in recent times. The fans in Qatar have been treated to some wonderful football, so far, and the tournament continues to surprise one and all. 

Kylian Mbappe has been in good form during this World Cup. He has raised the bar higher and has delivered some game changing performances during. He put forth another brilliant performance for France when he starred in the 3-1 win over Poland. Mbappe scored a brace and also set up another goal, helping France reach the quarterfinals in Qatar.

Earlier, when football legend Pele was struggling with health issues, Mbappe took to social media and wished the Brazilian Legend a speedy recovery.

“Pray for the King @Pele,” Mbappe wrote on twitter.

The football legend has now responded to the Mbappe while congratulating him for breaking his World record.

“Thank you, @KMbappe. I’m happy to see you breaking another one of my records in this Cup, my friend!”, Pele replied.

Mbappe has been in red hot form for France

Mbappe has scored nine goals in the World Cup so far, it is the highest tally of goals scored by any player before getting to the age of 24. In his goal scoring spree, he went past Pele, who had scored 7 goals before turning 24. In his debut World Cup in 1958, Pele had scored 6 goals, followed by a solitary goal in the next World Cup that took place in 1962.

The Mbappe starrer side will face off against England in the quarter-final of the World Cup which will take place on Sunday. When it comes to Pele’s health, it has seen a positive result and he has “no new complications”, the doctors said on Tuesday.

The 82-year-old has been hospitalised for a week and is being treated for a respiratory infection which has been made worse by Covid 19.

The three-time World Cup winner is also fighting cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. In these testing times, he continues to receive a lot of love and support from his fans who showed a lot of support to him in Qatar.
