Bowlers with most 5-wicket hauls in Asia Cup since 2000

Asia Cup has been one of the tournaments in ODIs where bowlers have usually dominated the proceedings. The tracks are bowler friendly often. Since India has never hosted an Asia Cup, most of the other hosts have provided slow tracks for the tournament over the years. Hence, there are many bowlers who succeeded in the tournament over the years.  

In the 21st century, Sri Lanka has been a very good team in the tournament. The island nation has won many Asia Cup tournaments since 2000 and has had some of the best individual performers in their team over the years. Some of the best bowlers in the history of the tournament have been from the nation. The list of bowlers with the most fifers in the Asia Cup since 2000, is dominated by the Sri Lankans.  

7. Kuldeep Yadav  

Kuldeep Yadav claimed a fifer in the 2023 Asia Cup against the arch-rivals Pakistan. In a rain-affected game, India and Pakistan played in Colombo on the reserve day. India scored 356 runs in their 50 overs. India defended the total comfortably, thanks to a very good bowling effort from the entire bowling unit. Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the bowler, who picked 5 wickets in his 8 overs and conceded 25 runs.
