‘Bowlers ko dhona hai Mera Kaam’ – Fans react as Fakhar Zaman scores superlative 180 against New Zealand in 2nd ODI
Pakistan and New Zealand locked horns against each other in the second ODI in Rawalpindi. The coin went Pakistan’s way and they opted to bowl first. The Kiwis got off to a good start but lost Will Young early in the piece for 19 off 22 balls with four fours. Chad Bowes made a run-a-ball 51 with seven fours. Haris Rauf picked up both their wickets. Then Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham took over. Mitchell made a stunning 129 off 119 balls with eight fours and three sixes.
Tom Latham, who is New Zealand’s best batter against spin made a cracking 98 off 85 balls with eight fours and one six. The blackcaps scored a huge total of 336-5 in their 50 overs. Rauf was the best bowler for Pakistan as he picked up 4-79 in his 10 overs. In reply, Pakistan were up to the task. Fakhar Zaman made a sparkling unbeaten 180 off 144 balls with 17 fours and six sixes. His opening partner Imam ul Haq made 24 off 26 with three fours.
Pakistan chased down New Zealand’s target off 336 with 10 balls to spare
The Pakistan skipper Babar Azam made 65 off 66 balls coming at number three. It was a very cool and calm innings. He hit five fours and one six. In the end, Mohammad Rizwan the wicketkeeper batter for the Men in Green came in at number 5 and gave the perfect finish for Pakistan. The right-hand batter made a solid 54 off 41 balls with six fours to ensure that the Men in Green chase down the score of 338 with ease,
Zaman had made his debut in the 2017 Champions Trophy where he played very well. His maiden ODI century came against India in the final after he survived when he was caught on three after it was deemed to be a no-ball. He was given the player of the match after the final ended and Pakistan won their maiden Champions Trophy. He also became the first Pakistan batter at that time to score a century in a World Event. He also has scored a double century against Zimbabwe.

Fakhar is a good batter but it would be unfair to make a comparison b/w him & Saeed Anwar as in Saeed’s playing days,game rules were in bowlers favour & today they are very much in batter favour. Hence a fair comparison can’t be make in absence of same playing rules.#FakharZaman
