Big setback for India as Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul gets ruled out of second Test against England

Ahead of the 2nd Test match which will start on 2nd February in Visakhapatnam India team suffers a major setback as batter KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are ruled out for the match.

Indian Cricket Board stated that during the game on Day 4 Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring and KL Rahul complained about a pain in his right quadriceps. The medical team is monitoring the progress of both the players.

In the first Test match, KL Rahul scored 86 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 87. They both were the top run scorers in the first innings. In the first Test match, Ravindra Jadeja took 5 wickets combined in both innings. Ravindra Jadeja’s injury happened in the second innings as he was run out by England captain Ben Stokes. After getting runout he left the field hobbling. After getting examined by the doctors Jadeja has been advised to take rest as he is having difficulty while walking.

In the meantime, the Indian Cricket Board have named their replacement for the second Test match against England. Washington Sundar, Sarfaraz Khan and Sourabh Kumar have been added to the squad.

A long wait finally gets over for Sarfaraz Khan as he gets his maiden call-up for team India. In the three-match Test series against England Lions Sarfaraz Khan and Washington Sundar were part of India A squad.

As the England Lions get defeated by innings and 16 runs by India A. Sarfaraz Khan has scored a knock of 161 runs. Washington Sunder has scored a half-century and also picked up two wickets against the England Lions. In the award ceremony which was held in Hyderabad Sarfaraz Khan won the Madhavrao Scindia Award as he was the highest run-getter in the 2021-2022 season for Mumbai in the Ranji trophy.

Like Ravindra Jadeja Sourabh Kumar is a spin all-rounder. He has been added to the squad along with Sarfaraz and Sundar. In the 2nd Test against England Lions, he has took seven wickets and scored 77 runs for India A.
