Heath Streak, who is considered arguably the greatest cricketer from Zimbabwe, is fighting cancer. The former Zimbabwean player is 49 years old is fighting the dangerous disease for a long time. The Bulawayo-born athlete is getting treated by one of the finest oncologists from South Africa. The rumours were that Streak breathed his last, as he was fighting cancer. According to the latest reports, Streak’s death news is fake.
The fake news surrounding Heath Streak shook the cricket world. Many current cricketers, former cricketers, fans, experts, and friends of the All-rounder remembered the great cricketer and offered him their condolences. Some of the current Zimbabwean players like Sean Williams, Blessing Muzarabani, Ravichandran Ashwin, and former cricketers like Henry Olonga sent their condolences to the lost life.
Henry Olonga took to Twitter and confirmed that Streak’s news is fake. The former Zimbabwean great is the team’s highest wicket-taker in both Tests and ODIs. In the longest format of the game, Streak claimed 216 wickets. In One Day internationals, Streak claimed 239 wickets as a bowler. 455 international wickets claimed by the former Zimbabwean player is the most by a bowler from his country, which is a great feat.

The right-arm fast-medium bowler is well known for his fast bowling. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Streak was responsible for the greatest era of Zimbabwean players. Alongside Streak, many greats of Zimbabwean cricket like Andy Flower, Grant Flower, Alistair Campbell, and Henry Olonga played for the team and formed the best team in Zimbabwe. Streak was one of the few cricketers who protested the government in 2003.
The right-handed batter was capable as well. In Test cricket, Streak scored 1990 runs at a batting average of 22.36 including a hundred. In ODIs, Streak scored 2943 runs at a batting average of 28.3 including 13 fifty. Streak also led Zimbabwe in Tests and ODIs. In Test cricket, Streak captained Zimbabwe in 21 matches. In ODIs, Streak led his team in 68 matches.
