Umran Malik is currently busy playing the ongoing ODI series in Bangladesh. Before this tour, team India visited New Zealand for a T20I and an ODI series. In that ODI series, Umran Malik made his debut. Everyone was excited to see the speedster in the lineup as this pacer impressed everyone with his pace in the last season of the Indian T20 League.

However, team India have already lost the ODI series by losing the first two matches. Umran Malik played in the second ODI of the series. He managed to take two wickets for 58 runs in 10 overs in Mirpur. In the New Zealand ODI series, Umran managed to take three wickets in three matches.

However, during the New Zealand series, Umran Malik said that he has been working hard on his line, length, and variations. He said: “I am working on developing new deliveries. Like, I am working on slowers and yorkers for T20s. Also, I am working very well on pitching good length and hard length balls. I am enjoying a lot by working alongside the coaches and feels really good. When I am playing for India, it is national duty and have to do well. If I do well, will stay here in the team for long. I just want to play long for India and perform well.”

Now, before the second ODI in Mirpur, Sunil Gavaskar said that Umran Malik is the first player after Sachin Tendulkar who has made him excited to see in Indian colors. While speaking on SonyLIV, he said: “One player I am most excited to see playing for India after Sachin Tendulkar is Umran Malik.” After hearing such a comment from the legendary batter, fans could not keep calm as they shared their views to slam Sunil Gavaskar.
