With the 2023 Asia Cup just days away from starting, the teams have started to focus on the tournament. Afghanistan and Pakistan are currently playing an ODI series against each other, which will help them to acclimatize to the conditions, which will be similar to the ones in the 2023 Asia Cup. It has also marked the beginning of the preparation of the two teams for the ODI World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Nepal team arrived in Pakistan, where they will be taking part in the 2023 Asia Cup. The Asian team will face the two giants like India and Pakistan in the group stage of the tournament. The emerging team will have a tough challenge ahead of them in the next few days. But it will also be a learning curve for the young side.

Tough challenge for Nepal in Asia Cup 2023

Nepal will play Pakistan in Multan in the opening match of the tournament. In Group A, Pakistan will face the challenge of Nepal and hope to claim a win. The match is scheduled to take place on the 30th of August later this month. Nepal will then face India in the fifth match of the tournament. In the group stage, Nepal will take on India in Pallekele and hope to win the match.

Nepal is grouped in the tough group, which will get the risk of losing away from them. That way, players can focus on giving their best, rather than doing something which they are not familiar with. If Nepal manages to beat any of the teams, they can have a crack at the Super 4 stage of the tournament. Else, the spirited side will have to return home with a lot of learnings with them.

Nepal has a good squad for the 2023 Asia Cup. The young team has the likes of Kushal Bhurtel, Bhim Sharki, Sundeep Jora, Rohit Paudel (C), Dipendra Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, Kushal Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Pratis GC, Arjun Saud, Aasif Sheikh, Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Kishore Mahato, and Mousom Dhakal.
