Ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 final, a video of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill having a conversation is going viral. In the video, the former was heard saying ‘Nahin aise nahin hoga, Pagal hai kya’. The video was recorded by one of the fans around them. While the others were looking to click a selfie, one of them decided to record a video.
Meanwhile, talking about the team, they made five changes in a dead rubber against Bangladesh. The team ended up losing the game by six runs. This was their first loss in the tournament, having thrashed Nepal and Pakistan and winning a close game against Sri Lanka. Against the Lankan Lions, the Men In Blue will take them on just as it has happened most times in the Asia Cup history since 1984.
Close to 40 years of the tournament’s history, India and Pakistan are yet to play each other in an Asia Cup final. Meanwhile, ahead of the game, India has seven titles to their name while Sri Lanka is looking for their seventh. The Lions are also looking to defend their title for the first time after 2008. 15 years back, they beat India to defend the title they won in 2004. On both occasions, they beat India in the final. Talking about India, they defended their title in 1991 and 1995, having won in 1988. In these three finals, India played against Sri Lanka. After this, they won in 2016 and managed to defend it two years later.
