Rohit Sharma has always had a comical side to himself. In interviews, many Indian teammates have said that he is a person who is laid back and likes to have fun with his team members. Rohit got the captaincy of the Indian side and took over from Virat Kohli after the 2021 20-20 World Cup. Even with Rohit at the helm, India has not been able to get that elusive trophy when it comes to world events.

Rohit is currently holidaying with his family. Some pictures of Rohit with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira have surfaced online and have been doing the rounds on social media. Meanwhile, Sajdeh put out a cheeky post on social media and captioned it saying. “My phone fell into the water and this guy jumped in to save it”. When the post came out, it was flooded with a flurry of reactions on social media.

Here is the post:

Talking about Rohit from a cricketing perspective, Things do not appear sunny for the Indian captain. After Australia pummeled India by 209 runs at the Oval to clinch their maiden World Test Championship (WTC) title, a lot of fingers were pointed at Rohit for his poor captaincy. Fans were very angry with him for benching Ravichandran Ashwin for the WTC final. Coach Rahul Dravid also was not spared after India’s WTC final loss.

Under Rohit, India could not lift the 20-20 World Cup 2022 which took place in Australia. The Men in Blue were completely routed by an in-form England side. India went on to lose the game by 10 wickets due to a big opening partnership from Jos Buttler and Alex Hales. India crashed out of the Asia Cup as well which was held at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) earlier that year. The India skipper has his task cut out come the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The 50-over tournament will be held in India for the first time since 2011. India will be the sole host of the tournament this time. The Men in Blue have not won an event for nine years since the Champions Trophy in 2013. India would want to turn things around and put up a good show in the 2023 ODI World Cup.
