‘Bhai bolna aasan hai krna muskil’- Fans react after Harbhajan Singh gives his two cents on Gambhir-Kohli spat in IPL 2023
The thrilling close contest that unfolded at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow was marred by a heated argument between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. This took place after the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants concluded.
After the match, Gambhir indulged in an aggressive handshake with Kohli. When Kyle Mayers walked towards Kohli to have a friendly chat, Gambhir was seen pulling him away from Kohli.
Harbhajan Singh, after his commentary stint on Star Sports, criticized both the players for the ugly fallout that unfolded.
“I Am Ashamed of What I Did with Sreesanth In 2008. Virat Kohli Is A Legend, Should Not Get Involved in Such Things. Whatever Happened Between Virat and Gambhir Was Not Right for Cricket,” Harbhajan said.

The incident had sprouted the last time that RCB had faced LSG at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. After LSG clinched a cliff hanger of a game by one run off the last ball, Gambhir took a daring step. He put a finger on his lips and went around the stadium to shush the RCB crowd.
At the Ekana stadium, Kohli did it in a similar way but there was a point of difference. While Kohli also put a finger on his lips, he gestured to the Lucknow crowd to cheer for RCB instead of the home side.
Kohli and Naveen-ul Haq were also involved in a big altercation. When the two shook hands after the game was finished, Naveen shook or rather gripped at Kohli’s hand very tightly as he refused to let it go. The Afghan mouthed in some words before Kohli shook his hand out. Right after this happened, Kohli looked to move away from Naveen and took a few steps away from him.
This angered Naveen to such an extent where things were about to get serious. But Glenn Maxwell came in at the right time and cooled down things. He also made sure that Kohli and Naveen do not get near each other and ended up starting another confrontation. RCB won the low scoring encounter by 18 runs.
