‘Bhai attitude theek karo apna’ – Fans react as Riyan Parag talks about social media trolls and how he is distancing them from himself
Riyan Parag recently coped the brunt for his comments regarding his work ethic on social media He said he has a great work culture but all that goes unnoticed. The fans targeted him and asked him to deliver on performances before talking about things. Parag though, answered his critics in some style as he played a wonderful innings of 95 off 65 balls with eight fours and five sixes. He was lauded by former India selector Saba Karim for his knock.
“People have a problem with me chewing gum. If my collar is up that’s a problem. I celebrate after taking a catch that’s a problem. They have a problem with me gaming and playing golf in my off time,” he said to the Indian Express in an interview. In the Indian Premier League, Parag has not been able to hit his straps so far. The man from Assam has played 54 matches and scored only 600 runs at an average of 16.21 and a strike rate of 123.96. He has scored two fifties in the IPL.

“I have an idea why people hate me. There is a rulebook about how you should play cricket. The T-shirt should be tucked in, the collar should be down, give respect to everyone, don’t sledge anyone, and I am completely the opposite.” he added. “I have stopped thinking about all this. No matter what you do, people are going to have a problem with me,” Parag said. In the Deodhar Trophy, he showed everyone what he was capable of as his numbers made good reading.
The right-hander scored 354 runs in five domestic games and also took 11 wickets to boot, But Parag is wary of the newfound followers. “I had a decent Deodhar Trophy, and now people are saying what a talent. Tomorrow I will fail in one game and people are going to talk s**t about me. There is no point giving a thought to those faceless trolls. No one has come down to me and told me their exact problem with me,” he further elaborated. Even in the emerging Asia Cup, he had given a good account of himself for India.
