Former India captain MS Dhoni has been phenomenal throughout his career. He has been one of those captains who has provided a free hand to the players. From stars like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to newcomers, everyone appreciates Dhoni for his guidance and presence of mind. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Dhoni opened up about his relationship with CSK all-rounder Deepak Chahar.

Speaking with the media in Chennai, Dhoni said that Chahar is a drug, and he won’t see him mature in his lifetime. “Deepak Chahar is like a drug; if he is not there, you would think, Where is he? If he is around, you would think, Why is he here? The good part is that he is maturing, but he takes time, and that is the problem; in my lifetime, I won’t see him mature (smiles),” Dhoni said at the trailer launch of the film Let’s Get Married’.

The LGM movie is the first feature film from MS Dhoni’s production house. Dhoni was in Chennai to launch the trailer and Audio for the film. Notably, Dhoni received a grand welcome from fans at the airport when he landed in the city with his wife, Sakshi Dhoni. Shakshi is a co-producer of the Tamil film LGM.

Deepak Chahar expressed his fondness for MS Dhoni

It’s worth noting that, on various occasions, Chahar has also expressed his fondness for Dhoni. He has often spoken about how Dhoni treats him and takes care of him. Speaking about an incident, Chahar said, “I was bowling in the death overs for the very first time. They never made me bowl in the end because it was not needed. There were bowlers like Shardul and Bravo to bowl the death overs. Bravo got injured. It was a critical match.

“He (Dhoni) came to me and said, You act smart as if you know everything. Why are you bowling in this manner?’ I was thinking that my career was over. Then I gave 5 runs off the next 5 balls, and after the match, he hugged me,” the pacer said. Notably, Chahar has been one of the crucial weapons for Dhoni in the Indian Premier League. He has been phenomenal with both bat and ball on different occasions.
