‘Best player in the World’ – Fans salute Joel Embiid after his electrifying performance against Charlotte Hornets

Joel Embiid kept on going strong as the Philadelphia 76ers dunked the Charlotte Hornets 121-82.  He registered 38 points in 29 minutes. He had 13 rebounds, 4 blocks and five assists in a game-changing performance. The fans went gaga over the man’s performance. When the All-Star break took place. The 76ers have gone 9-3. In that span of time, he has averaged 35.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.5 blocks. Embiid is also hitting 59.9% of his shots.

Jokic’s Nuggets did not win the home game against the Chicago Bulls and the Brooklyn Nets. They were defeated in the away fixture by the San Antonio Spurs and then lost 49 first-quarter points in another loss to the Toronto Raptors. The Nuggets have had some huge defeats. The 76ers on the other hand have been getting a string of wins.

He is averaging 33.5 PPG this year in 2023- Nick Wright

The 76ers have been given a tough schedule but despite that have been able to keep hitting the right strings. Embiid looks set to win the Eastern conference player of the month in March and April. He won the award in December and January. Embiid is first on the MVP list. At second and third are Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo respectively.

In the past Embiid was placed second to Jokic. It looked like more of the same in 2023 but it all panned out differently after the 76ers played impressive basketball and eked out wins at the Eastern Conference.”He’s averaging 33.5 PPG this year.”He’s the only C to average 30+ in 40 years, and he’s about to do it a 2nd time.”Only players to average more PPG than Embiid this year in last 40 years are Harden, Kobe & MJ.” Analyst Nick Wright wrote on Embiid’s jaw-dropping performances.

The 76ers have 12 games remaining in the season. If the 76ers lay their hands on the Eastern Conference on the back of a streak of Embiid’s performances then it is certain that he would get the MVP. The fag end of the season could give fans an indication as to which player will take home the inaugural Michael Jordan MVP Trophy.
