Ben Stokes gives out fiery message to Australia ahead of Ashes 2023

After the World Test Championship (WTC) final concludes, the pressure will not end for Australia and England as they will go head-to-head at the Ashes. While England played a four-day test match against Ireland, Australia will come out of the WTC final. An Ashes series will fire up the rivalry between the Three Lions and the Kangaroos. Australia have given a good showing of themselves in the first three days of the WTC final.

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes has stood tall and said that he will face the Australian challenge head-on ahead of the Ashes. Stokes further said it is a different feeling when an Ashes series is played. He said that England is ready for a great summer of cricket. He was upbeat about his team’s confidence and said that England will take inspiration from the series results that they had got in 2022. Stokes further talked about shedding away the fear of failure and playing without any baggage.

“It’s not like any other series. There’s the pressure, the hype, and the extra noise that comes with it, but we’re ready for all that this summer. We’ve had some good results in the last year and the mindset in the group is so strong. Everyone is fully committed to what we’re doing,” Stokes was quoted as saying by PLANETSPORT. The Ashes series this year will be played in England. Both teams will be keen to do well and keep the prized urn in their position for another cycle.

We want to create an environment where everyone has the freedom to try things without fear. I know it hasn’t always been that way, even though we’ve always had the ability. Hold nothing back. Express yourself. Show us what you can really do. As captain, I’m not going to be chewing people out in press conferences or in the media for trying to play a big shot,” Stokes added.
