Jos Buttler smashed a 50 off just 20 balls in Rajasthan’s first game in the Indian T20 League on Sunday. The Englishman pulverized the Hyderabad bowling attack and put them out of commission. It was typical Buttler’s innings.

He got out after scoring 54 off 22 balls with seven fours and three sixes. The right hander, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, added 85 runs for the first wicket. Butler looked in his element as he played strokes to all parts of the ground. He looked in the mould of AB de Villiers with regards to 360 degree hitting.

The 32-year-old is known for the reverse scoops and ramp shots in T20 cricket and across T20 Leagues. At the SA20, Buttler hit Jofra Archer for a six off a scoop shot.

Butter played an integral role in helping England win their second 20-20 World Cup title in Australia in 2022. He along with Alex Hales blew India away in the semi-final of the tournament and made an unbeaten partnership in pursuit of 168. The batter has been a big star in the Indian T20 League. The right-hander has played for Mumbai and Rajasthan in the cash-rich league.

Jos Buttler scored 863 runs for Rajasthan in 2022 Indian T20 League season.

Buttler was a beast for Rajasthan in the 2022 season. He scored 863 runs with four hundreds and four fifties. In 2022, he had an average of 57.53 and a strike rate of 149.05. Rajasthan made it to the finals of the tournament that year. Rajasthan were second on the points table. The Men from the Pink City won 9 and lost five.

The team is even more strengthened this year with the arrival of Adam Zampa, Jason Holder etc. They also replaced the injured Prasidh Krishna, who was good for them last year, with Sandeep Sharma. Rajasthan have won an Indian T20 League trophy in the inaugural season of 2008 when they beat Chennai in the final. Shane Warne was captaining them at that time.

The ongoing edition is the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League and will be played in the home and away format. The tournament will be held across 12 venues this year. The home and away format is back after three-year gap. Gujarat were the champions of the league last year under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy.
