As the rain shower called off the India vs Pakistan encounter in Asia Cup 2023, cricketing fans all over the world got disappointed, which resulted in funny reactions on Twitter about this encounter. The rain was expected to spoil the match as it interrupted play in the first innings two times. Pakistan won their first game against Nepal and after the points were shared in this game, the Men in Green remained at the top of the table, while the Indian side opened their account in Group A.

In the 1st innings, India after the early blows by Pakistan bowlers recovered well and posted a total of 266/10 in 48.5 overs in Asia Cup 2023. At the start of the play, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Men in Blue’s chances of getting a good score were shattered after Rohit, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill departed within the 15 overs of the game.

However, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya had different plans altogether as they stood in the crease and added 138 runs together to take India 66-4 to 205-5. They together batted brilliantly, attacked the spinners, and kept rotating strikes against the pacers.

Ishan was dismissed on the score of 82 runs by Haris Rauf after Ravindra Jadeja came in next and tried to score some quick runs along with Pandya, the latter one being the aggressor. Jadeja was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi on the 13-run mark. After the wicket on Pandya on 87(90), Jasprit Bumrah scored 16 runs, including three boundaries, which later pushed the Indian innings to a score of 266.

Speaking of Babar Azam-led side bowling, Afridi bowled a brilliant spell today, from taking early wickets to bowling death overs, at the start he dismissed Rohit and Kohli and when he came in the later part of the innings, he cleaned up Hardik and Jadeja. The left-arm pacer ended with 4/35 in 10 overs, along with Naseem Shah was economical today as he ended up with three wickets.
