Bas kar kitna khelega’ – Fans react as Ambati Rayudu signs for ILT20, will play for MI Emirates

Ambati Rayudu is back in the Mumbai family as he will play for the MI Emirates in the International League T20 (ILT20). This is the second stint for Rayudu with Mumbai Indians (MI) after having played for them in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rayudu played 114 matches when he donned the blue and gold jersey. The man from Andhra hit 2416 runs at an average of 27.14 and a strike rate of 126.16. The right-hander hit 14 fifties with the highest score of 81.

At MI Rayudu primarily played in the middle order and also kept wickets for the franchise whenever needed. Joining Rayudu for the second season of the IL T20 will be David Warner, Shadab Khan, Mark Wood and Shaheen Afridi. Shadab Khan will play for the Desert Vipers alongside Azam Khan and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Martin Guptill Maheesh Theekshana and Lewis Gregory will play for the Sharjah Warriors.

Ambati Rayudu has also signed up to play for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Caribbean Premier League

Wood and Warner will team up with each other at the Dubai Capitals. When it comes to the MI Emirates squad they have some big names in the form of Kusal Perera, Akeal Hossein and Corey Anderson. Rayudu and Anderson have played together at MI and it will be a second coming got the duo at MI Emirates. Vijayakanth Viyaskanth the man from Sri Lanka is also with the MI Emirates as is Noshtush Kenjige . MI Emirates did not have the best of seasons in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

Ambati Rayudu also signed up in the Caribbean Premier League for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Rayudu was supposed to be part of the Texas Super Kings at Major League Cricket (MLC) but bailed out at the last minute when the cricket made an entry into the political corridors of Andhra Pradesh. With opportunities like these, Rayudu could become a T20 globetrotter in future.
