The Women’s T20 league in India has been a wonderful tournament so far. The pitches in Mumbai at the DY Patil stadium and also at the Brabourne stadium have been very conducive for batting and the crowds have been thoroughly entertained by the high-scoring encounters.

For one team though, the Women’s T20 League has not been rosy so far, and that is Bangalore. The side have lost four games on the trot and have not looked like winning an encounter come what may. Bangalore lost by 60 runs to Delhi, by 9 wickets to Mumbai, by 11 runs to Gujarat and by 10 wickets to UP.

Smriti Mandhana has not been proactive enough as a captain and her bowling changes have been questionable. The left-handed batter has scored 35, 23, 18, and 4 in the first four games that Bengaluru have played. Bangalore have not fired with the ball and have conceded 200-plus totals twice against Delhi and Gujarat.

Smriti Mandhana has scored only 80 runs for Bengaluru from four innings in WTL so far

In the other two games against Mumbai and UP, the girls from the garden city have lost the plot by losing wickets in clusters. With the bat, it has been Sophie Devine and Heather Knight who has fired for the franchise. In Bangalore’s case, their Indian buys have not fired, be it Richa Ghosh with the bat or Renuka Singh with the ball.

Shreyanka Patil has been the biggest positive for Bangalore. The youngster from Karnataka has proven her worth with good performances with the ball and bat. When Bengaluru played against Gujarat where they lost by 11 runs, Patil picked up 2-32 in her four overs and also smashed a quickfire 11 off 4 balls with one four and one six.

Bangalore have not been able to create an impact with the ball as they have allowed opposing teams to score very freely by not picking up the wickets at regular intervals. Let us take a look at some of the memes on Twitter-
