India is gearing up for the ODI World Cup 2023. The mega event is just three days away with all the teams preparing for the big event. Team India is currently in Thiruvananthapuram for their second warm-up fixture of the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 against the Netherlands. The competition is scheduled to be held from October 5 to November 19 in India. India’s first warm-up match was washed out against England.

Ahead of the Netherlands match, former captain and star batter Virat Kohli has not travelled with India. According to various reports, Kohli flew to Mumbai from Guwahati after seeking permission from the team management and is expected to join his teammates on Monday. As per the reports, he flew back to Mumbai due to some personal emergency.

Previously, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were rumoured to be expecting their second child, after Vamika. But the rumours were dismissed by the Bollywood actress. India will have a training session on Monday if there is no rain forecast in the capital of Kerala. The Asian champions have been in superb form in recent years. They few days back became the No.1 ODI side making them the first Asian side to stay No.1 in each and every format of the game simultaneously.

India gets ready for World Cup

India is set to play the Netherlands at the Greenfield International Stadium, in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday for their second warm-up game. A source said, “Virat will rejoin the team soon.” The rest of the team have reached Kerala safely. India will start their World Cup campaign against Australia on October 8, in Chennai. They recently won the three-match ODI series against the Aussies. However, in the last match, the Indian batting was tested against the five-time World Champions. The Men in Blue faces their arch-rivals on October 14 at the Narendra Modi International Stadium, Ahmedabad.

They had a superb outing in the Asia Cup with the key players performing with the bat and ball whenever their team required them to do so. They also won and became the Asian champions for the 8th time.
