Pakistan cricketer Shan Masood has amazed everyone with his excellent performances in the County Championship 2022. He has scored 844 runs in nine innings of the six matches he played for Derbyshire. Masood registered a commendable batting average of 93.77, including 3 centuries and 3 half-centuries in these games.

After his amazing show in the English First-Class cricket championship, several people have called for Masood to make a comeback to the Pakistan Test team sooner than later. Besides, he is no stranger time international cricket, and has already played several international games for the Asian side. As a matter of fact, he scored an amazing hundred during Pakistan’s tour to England in 2020 as well.

Recently, the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has spoken up about the possible batting position for Shan Masood, i.e. if he does manage to make a comeback to the team. Babar advocated that the batting position for Masood should be kept where he can be completely utilized as per the team’s requirements.

Masood responded to Babar Azam’s statement

“It will be injustice with Shan Masood to utilize him in middle order” Babar Azam was quoted as saying by Geo News journalist Arfa Feroz Zake.

In a response to the skipper’s statement, Shan Masood said:

“I am willing to make the change in my own game as per the requirement of the team management.”

Shan Masood’s response clarifies a couple of things to the cricket experts and the fans as well. Firstly, the decision is up to the team management and the skipper Babar Azam as the ball is in the court of the Pakistan skipper and team management, it would be very crucial to see how they utilize the current blistering form of Shan Masood.

Few experts have opined that Shan Masood will fit in the top-order as he has played at the same position for Derbyshire in the County Championship of 2022.
