Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been wearing a number-less T-shirt in the ongoing second Test against West Indies. With the advent of the World Test Championship in 2019, teams are wearing numbered kits in Tests too. Before this, it was seen only in County Cricket. Meanwhile, in the last couple of editions, players have worn the same numbers as they did in white ball cricket.

During the ongoing second Test against West Indies, the WTC defending champions bowled first and the Maroon Brigade amassed 313 all-out. Thanks to Kevam Hodge, Joshua Da Silva, and Kevin Sinclair scored a fifty each. For the home side, Mitchell Starc completed his 350 Test wickets while picking a four-for. Meanwhile, during the West Indies innings, Starc explained why Marsh was wearing the number-less jersey.

“I think he left it in the washing machine,” the legendary left-arm pacer told the official broadcasters after being asked about Marsh’s jersey.

In reply, the Aussies were rocked early as they lost four wickets for 24 runs before the Dinner break in the ongoing Day Two. Things got worse as the team lost the wicket of Marsh at the score of 54 runs. Alex Carey scored a counter-attacking fifty and Usman Khawaja did the same before he got out at the time of writing. The score is 242/8 with skipper Pat Cummins at the crease.
