Australia is in India for a long tour. The five-time ODI world champions will be in India for about 3 months and will take part in the ODI and T20I series against India. The two series will be overlapped with the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be the centre of attraction. Before the big tournament, Australia will be taking on India in the ODI series, which will act as a preparatory task for both teams.

The talks are already on regarding the series. In the press conference ahead of the series, the Australian captain Pat Cummins was asked if they had any plan to counter Mohammad Siraj. Cummins was quick to reply “No”. Later, Cummins answered several questions from the media. The Australian captain talked about getting used to the conditions with the right combinations.

“Want to strike a balance between getting used to the conditions and getting a few wins under our belts. We don’t want to get to the first game (of the World Cup) under-prepared. We want to try out a few combinations, a few different players but ideally, we have structured the combination we want to go about,” said Cummins in the press conference.

Hopefully, we’ll get a few answers to our questions in the next few games’ – Pat Cummins

The Australian cricketer also stressed the need to get used to the conditions and talked about the role of the spinners. “As a captain, I want to get used to how to use my bowlers here. Might be a bit different to South Africa and Australia. Does the second spinner play a part? Hopefully, we’ll get a few answers to that in the next few games,” added the Australian star player.

Siraj has been in phenomenal form in ODIs since 2022. The right-arm pacer has been one of the best bowlers in the world in the format. In the Asia Cup final, Siraj bowled a sensational spell against Sri Lanka and helped India to win the match. Following it, the Indian pacer has been praised by former cricketers, fans, and experts.
