After Covid 19 derailed the plans of the Chappell-Hadlee series in 2020, both the teams will now lock horns after a gap of 2 years. In 2020, only the first One Day game was played at the Sydney Cricket Ground before New Zealand left Australia due to the Covid 19 pandemic. After a gap of 2 years, when things look more normal at present, the trans-Tasman rivals will lock horns against each other with Australia hosting New Zeeland.

Now, after a disappointing defeat in the final ODI versus Zimbabwe, the Kangaroos will aim to return back to form against the mighty Kiwis. On the other hand, the Men from New Zealand will be captained by Kane Williamson. The team, recently, won against the West Indies in the One-Day series by 2-1 and will now battle it out against Australia to get some matches under their belt before the start of the 20-20 World Cup.

The hosts won the ODI series very comfortably against Zimbabwe but their batting collapse in the third ODI. Against the potent bowling group of New Zealand, their batting will definitely be tested. David Warner has been in sensational form lately and the team will hope that the lead batter will continue the way he does.

Mitchell Marsh will miss the series because he has picked up an injury, while Pat Cummins has been rested against New Zealand. Travis Head will give the series a miss as his partner Jess is due to give birth to their child. From a New Zealand point of view, skipper Kane Williamson’s form has not been good off late.

New Zeeland’s talisman didn’t play a lot of ODIs in the last two years as well. Before the T20 World Cup starts, he will be looking to get back to his best. Meanwhile, the other batters did play good knocks, of late. The New Zeeland bowlers will look to keep the Aussie batters at bay.
